Editorial Jobs

A Script Editor is a member of the production team of scripted television programmes, usually used for dramas and comedies and they provide quite a big influence on the film as they overview original scripts to try strengthen it and develop it further in the re-write although they will not actually re-write it themselves they will sit down with the script writer and explain what they think the weaknesses are with the script and try give them tips on how to improve it.
A Newspaper Editor is a person that edits what goes into a newspaper, ensuring that it is suitable to go in the newspaper as sometimes certain headlines for example might not be suitable for specific members of public to see a newspaper editor can get rid of this and change it.
A Journalist is someone who collects news and information and then writes about it distributes it, referred to as Journalism. A Reporter is a certain type of a Journalist; they research, write and make reports which will then be presented in mass media, such as print media - magazines or newspapers, electronic media – Radio and TV and Digital Media – online Journalism. The information collection part of a Journalist’s job is called reporting, in contrast to the production part of the job – writing articles.
A Negative Cutter, there job is to cut any motion pictures negative to match the final edit. Original Camera Negative is cut with scissors and joined using a film splicer and film cement. Using negative cutting is part of the post-production and occurs after editingand prior to the prints being released.
